Profile:
Although Darrell Griffin comes from a non-traditional rugby league catchment area, he has progressed through the ranks and become one of the best front-rowers in Super League. He joined Huddersfield Giants in 2006 after joining from neighbours Wakefield Wildcats, where he made 92 appearances. Standing at six foot seven inches, he now cuts a commanding presence in the Giants’ front row. After graduating through the youth system at Oxford Cavaliers he was snapped up by London Broncos before earning a move up north to Wakefield in 2003. He has made three appearances for England and was unlucky not to make the cut for the World Cup 2008 squad, having been in their training squad.
