Morgan Escare has confirmed he will stay at Wigan next year, despite Limoux trying to lure him back to France.

The 26-year-old has become a fan favourite at the Warriors since his move from Catalans Dragons ahead of last season.

Escare admitted that he thought about going back to France and joining Limoux at the end of the season but has told Wigan that he wants to fulfil his contract and play on next season.

He told treizemondial.fr: “A few weeks ago, I thought about all this for personal reasons but it’s behind me.

“I had an appointment with the president of the club and I told them my desire to continue here (at Wigan) and honour my contract.

“I will be a Wigan player in 2019.”

The France international has played 24 Super League games for Wigan this season, scoring eight tries.
