Jon Wilkin has confirmed that he will move to Toronto ahead of the 2019 season.

The 34-year-old ended a 16-year stint with St Helens at the end of the season after making over 400 appearances for the club.

Wilkin, who has 16 caps for Great Britain and England, confirmed that he will join the Wolfpack for 2019, despite them failing to gain promotion to Super League through the Million Pound Game.

He told the Whippets and Flat Caps podcast: “A lot of people have asked me if I’m still going, but I am still going.

“The attraction of Toronto was I could live in a cool city for a period of the year, the money was good and also I thought it was an exciting brand.

“I had a good chat with Robert Elstone about this and the Toronto brand is doing some great things with how they appear, the sponsorship and the gameday experience, and I’m really engaged with that.”
