Leeds looking to avoid unwanted Wembley record

Leeds are looking to avoid becoming the first team to lose three consecutive Challenge Cup finals at Wembley.

The Rhinos, who were beaten by Wigan last year and by this year's opponents Warrington in 2010, would be the first team for more than 100 years to lose three straight finals.

Hull lost three finals in a row between 1908 and 1910, although those games were played at Huddersfield (1908 and 1910) and Leeds (1909).

As well as the 2010 meeting, which Warrington won 30-6, the two teams have met at Wembley once before back in 1936, with Leeds winning 18-2.

Leeds are appearing in their 23rd Cup Final (11 wins), whilst the Wolves make their 16th appearance (7 wins). Only Wigan (29) have more Final appearances than Leeds, whilst the Wolves are fourth on the list of Finals, behind Wigan, Leeds and St Helens (21).

With defeat, Leeds would also become the first team to lose in all six of their last six Challenge Cup Final appearances.

Halifax and Hull FC both stopped five game losing streaks with victories in the 1987 and 1982 Finals respectively.
