Triple injury relief for Hull KR

Hull KR's play-off hopes have been boosted with the news that injuries to Graeme Horne, Josh Hodgson and Liam Salter are not as bad as first feared.

The Rovers lost their grip on a top eight place with a dramatic 31-30 defeat against Wakefield on Sunday, which leaves them two points adrift of Bradford, who currently occupy the final play-off place.

Horne was taken from the field in the defeat, having received a kick to the face in the act of scoring a try, and initial fears were that he had sustained a fractured cheekbone, but subsequent x-rays have shown that not to be the case.

Hooker Hodgson, 22, suffered severe bruising to his hand and Salter took a knock to the shoulder, but scans have ruled out any serious injury to either player.

All three are now likely to be in contention for Hull KR's next match, against Wgain on September 2nd.

Craig Sandercock's men are likely to need to win both that match, and their final game against London Broncos at Twickenham Stoop, to have any chance of making the play-offs.
