Sandercock insists KR will bounce back after Bulls defeat

Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock says his side will bounce back after their defeat to troubled Bradford Bulls.

Sandercock played five youngsters and despite being critical of them for conceding errors which cost Rovers the game, he has no regrets over his team selection.

He said: “I’m proud of them because there were five 19-year-olds out there and the effort they put in was great.

“Unfortunately though, a couple of little errors cost us dearly. They are the future of Hull KR. We’ll make it into the top eight. Next week we’ll compete hard and do our best, and hopefully get a few more troops back.

“Because we’ve had that many close games, our for and against is in the positive so we’re still clinging to eighth spot. If we win next week we’ll stay there. I’m convinced a bit of luck is around the corner for us.”

Rovers have been struggling for players through injury, but is confident that he will have the majority of his squad back after the Challenge Cup final for the final two games of the regular season.

Sandercock said: “Injuries are frustrating but that’s rugby league. We live to fight another day though and will work hard at training this week. We’ve lost some close games this year but that’s part of the learning curve.”
