Tommy Lee aims to impress Paul Anderson for 2013

Huddersfield Giant Tommy Lee aims to prove he is worth another year at the Galpharm Stadium under Paul Anderson.

Lee’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and says he is desperate to prove he can play for the Giants under Paul Anderson next season.

Lee said: “It’s a big priority for me to get a new contract at the club.

“If I don’t get a new deal I haven’t got a job so I’m just concentrating on getting back in the team and playing well and I’d like to stay here too.”

Lee, who has had spells with Hull FC, Crusaders and Wakefield, has played on 12 occasions in the Super League for Huddersfield and scored two tries.

He now wants to use the remainder of the season to show he is valuable to the Giants for the 2013 season, and hopefully show a bit of form going into the play offs and helping the Giants produce a late surge for Old Trafford.

He said: “I’m just happy to get picked. I don’t mind where I play.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Huddersfield this year. We’re obviously in a bad patch at the minute but we’re still in the play-offs and hoping to kick on.

“I definitely think we can push on for the rest of the season. I thought the team showed a lot of character on Sunday, they worked hard for each other, a couple of things didn’t go our way but we definitely showed signs of improvement. We’ve got a great squad so I feel we can turn it around definitely.”
