Toovey: Origin stars will return

Manly coach Geoff Toovey says the Sea Eagles' Origin stars should be fit to face Penrith on Sunday.

Brothers Brett and Glenn Stewart, Jamie Buhrer and Tony Williams all featured in NSW's 18-10 loss to Queensland in game one of the series in Melbourne on Wednesday.

But they won't be getting a break and are all expected to appear in the clash at Centrebet Stadium, according to Toovey.

“We won’t be leaving any players out. Provided they are fit, they should all be playing,” Toovey told the club's official website.

“The only concern I think is Tony Williams who has a bit of a bruised back, but he’ll be assessed later this afternoon… he should be fine.

“With the players coming back this week it will definitely boost our confidence and the quality of the team.”

However the chances of Kiwi international Kieran Foran pulling on the Sea Eagles jersey are slim due to an ankle injury

“We’ll have to wait until the end of the week with Kieran,” Toovey said.

“It’s improving slowly so we’ll give him every opportunity to be fit.

“He’s quietly confident, I can’t even hold him back sometimes, but we’re hopeful and he is making some good progress.”
