Hull KR fans in Supporter's Trust idea

A group of Hull KR fans are working towards starting a Supporter's Trust for the club.

Newspaper reports last month suggested that club chairman Neil Hudgell was becoming frustrated with the struggles of holding up the club, which saw them record losses of more than £500,000 in their most recent accounts.

It led to a delay in them announcing season ticket packages for the 2013 season, when the club aren't expected to spend the full salary cap, in contrast to last year.

The Hull Kingston Rovers Supporter's Working Group will look to help give fans a voice in the club through a Supporter's Trust, and bring it closer to the supporters.

A press release stated: "A Trust is committed to the long term survival of the club through a variety of short term goals as well as acting as a way of strengthening the links between the club and the communities which it serves.

"We would like to extend an invitation to the fans of Hull Kingston Rovers to an open meeting on Sunday 9th of December in the Harry Poole bar at Craven Park, doors open at 1.30pm and starts at 2pm.

"The open meeting will include a presentation from Supporters Direct, words from special guests and a question and answer session. The meeting will finish with a democratic vote to whether the fans would like a Supporters Trust or not."
