Graham to fight biting charge
James Graham is to fight charges of biting Billy Slater in the NRL Grand Final when he faces the NRL judiciary tomorrow.
The allegation was deemed so serious Graham was referred straight to the judiciary for an ungraded dangerous contact charge.
Television pictures appear to show Graham biting Slater during a melee following Canterbrury winger Sam Perrett's first half try.
If found guilty he could face a suspension of up to three months.
Bulldogs chief executive Todd Greenerg admitted the pictures were "damning" but praised Graham for his work ethic in helping the club to the Grand Final.
‘‘It’s difficult obviously because the pictures are quite damning,’’ Greenberg told Triple M radio.
‘‘I would put him in such a high class of of footballer, he’s a wonderful guy, he’s done a huge amount of work for us in the community and he’s just a good quality human being.’’
Melbourne pair Sisa Waqa and Todd Lowrie received one match bans for their part in the brawl while Bulldogs playmaker Josh Reynolds escaped suspension.
