Salford forced to play at Leigh
Salford have been forced to move their final home game of the season against Wakefield to Leigh Sports Village.
The City Reds had been scheduled to play the Wildcats in their usual Friday night slot, but the game has been re-arranged for SKY television coverage, courtesy of their opponents' play-off charge, on Saturday (6.15pm).
With co-tenants of the Salford City Stadium, Sale Sharks rugby union, already scheduled to play their first home game of the new Premiership season on Saturday night, in front of the ESPN TV cameras, the City Reds have been forced to look elsewhere.
It now means they will play their final Super League game of the year 14 miles away at the 11,000 capacity Leigh Sports Village, which has been home to Championship sides Leigh Centurions and Swinton Lions in 2012.
The SKY televised clash on Friday sees Wigan host St Helens, with the Warriors set to lift the league leaders' shield, that they secured with a comeback win over Hull KR on Sunday.
A win for Wakefield on Saturday will secure only their place in the Super League play-offs for only the third time.
Their place may already be assured by kick-off anyway, if Bradford lose to Catalan in France on Saturday afternoon.
