Briggs makes Fev return permanent

Featherstone have signed half-back Kyle Briggs on a permanent deal from Bradford.

Briggs, 24, left the club for the Bulls at the end of 2010, before returning on loan mid-way through this season.

He has now agreed a two-year deal to re-join Rovers, and will stay at the Bigfellas Stadium until the end of 2014.

Head Coach Daryl Powell said: "Kyle signing for the next two seasons is the final piece in our half back jigsaw as we look to drive our standards over this and the coming seasons. He is a tough character who can really play, he knows us and we know him which is a bonus.

"I expect Kyle to become a massive fans favourite again and am looking forward to seeing our half back combinations get better and better."

Briggs scored four tries in six Super League appearances for the Bulls, with two further appearances in the Challenge Cup.

He also spent time on loan in 2011 at Harlequins, where he played three more games in the top flight.

Briggs said: "I’m enjoying being back at Featherstone Rovers and happy to commit my future to Rovers. It’s been quite an uncertain time for me with the situation at Bradford Bulls and a troublesome shoulder but that is all behind me now.

"I’m looking forward to getting some game time under my belt and returning to my best form which I know I am capable of in a stable environment. Daryl Powell and Ryan Sheridan are excellent coaches and I’m looking forward to a rosy future at a great club."

Briggs first caught the eye for Doncaster in 2008, where he helped lead the National League 2 side to the Northern Rail Cup final, where they were beaten by Salford.

He eventually moved on to the Bigfellas Stadium ahead of the 2010 season, being part of the Rovers team that finished top of the Championship table, only to lose in the Grand Final to Halifax at the end of the year.
